I am a licensed Responsible Master Plumber, a State Board approved Continuing Professional Education instructor, plumbing certification course instructor, Eagle Scout, and owner of my own plumbing company. These certifications and required classes help to keep me up to date on the latest in plumbing codes and technology. I have been a licensed plumber for over 16 years working in commercial and residential service, repair, and drain cleaning side of plumbing, but it was a long road to get here.

I got my start learning the trade while working for The Boy Scouts of America in the late 1990s after achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. I was hired as a ranch hand at a Boy Scout Ranch in central Texas when I was 20 years old after working summers there since 1994. My job consisted of assisting in the repair, building, and maintenance of various facilities and learning the basics of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry but not yet on a professional level. I was also the main director for the camp’s rock climbing program for all ages and skill levels which included training instructors that would also teach and facilitate kids who wanted to learn how to rock climb. These skills helped in becoming organized with paperwork and learning management skills that would assist years later when running my own plumbing company.  I really loved the work that I was doing for the Boy Scouts, especially the problem solving aspects with the upkeep and maintenance of a camp/ranch.  But mostly I enjoyed the art of plumbing and diagnostics of plumbing related issues and I wanted to pursue a career in the trade. So, in 2002 I resigned from the Boy Scouts and went to work for a major plumbing service and repair company in Houston, TX, and began to really learn the specifics of the trade.

I applied for the state exam for the license of a Journeyman plumber in early 2006 and passed on my first attempt. I was happy to achieve the status of Journeyman but wanted to learn more. I continued to pursue knowledge and experience in as much of the trade as I could by becoming certified as a Backflow Prevention Specialist, leak detection specialist, tankless water heater specialist and drain cleaner.

In 2008 I wanted to expand my experience and see a different part of the country so I decided to move to the beautiful state of Montana. I obtained my journeyman license for Montana and managed a plumbing service company for the owner of the company in the state capital of Helena. I was able to learn more about different aspects of the trade that are specific to the region and climate plus I was able to experience living in the mountains and snow. In 2010, I moved back to Texas and went back to my old job in Houston. I continued to gain more experience but focused heavily on the drain cleaning, sewer locating, and video inspection side of plumbing, or the dirty side, as some call, it so that I could master that, or do my best to master it. In 2013 I finally decided to apply for the Master Plumbing exam, (I was already teaching the prep course for the exam to plumbers who were going to be taking the master’s exam) and passed the first time with flying colors. After that, it was simply a matter of time before I could start my own plumbing company. I wasn’t wanting to put all my eggs in one basket at the time so I also took the required courses to be a certified instructor for the state board of plumbing examiners. This allowed me to teach as a continuing education instructor for licensed plumbers, an OSHA instructor, and instructor for the required code classes for plumbers so they can apply for the Journeyman’s exam. This gave me a great perspective as a manager because it helped in being a better teacher to anyone working under me, plus I got to know a lot of other plumbers in other facets of the trade. I taught classes for plumbers from 2013 through 2015 and started my own plumbing service and repair company in 2014 while still teaching.

Through the years as a ranch hand, service plumber, manager, instructor, and a specialist in drain cleaning, leak detection, backflow prevention, and tankless water heating technology, I gained a passion for challenges and never gave up on my dream of being the best plumber I could be and be the best plumbing company owner I could be. It is a never ending quest and one that I embrace.

Since starting my own company we have increased our truck fleet and hired full time employees. I am an Eagle Scout, still active in the boy scouts locally, and currently am an active member of the local Elks Lodge in Brenham, Texas. These experiences have helped develop my passion for plumbing, problem solving, professionalism, customer service, and community involvement. Our commitment to our customers is to always communicate effectively, be honest and professional in all our work, provide peace of mind to the customer and never make a promise we can’t keep. We plan on continuing to grow, learn and improve our company so as to provide the best service possible to our customers.
